The Lions Club of Sydney Chinese Inc marked its 2026 Changeover Dinner and Installation Ceremony with a significant $75,000 donation to CareFlight, continuing its long-standing commitment to charity, emergency care, and community service.
Held on Wednesday, 3 June at Zilver Restaurant in Chatswood, the evening brought together Lions members, community representatives, government leaders, sponsors, and supporters to celebrate the appointment of the Club’s 2026-2027 Board and Office Bearers.

As a proud advocate for corporate social responsibility, HOME789 is thrilled to share this milestone. We are especially proud that our CEO, Walton Chu, was officially installed as one of the Vice Presidents of the Lions Club of Sydney Chinese Inc for 2026-2027. This appointment reflects his deep personal commitment to community leadership and charitable service.

A Record Donation Supporting Life-Saving Services

A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of a $75,000 cheque to CareFlight. The donation was presented by President Duncan Lin CFA and Immediate Past President Dr Anthony Cheung OAM JP, with CareFlight represented by General Manager of Fundraising, Arani Duggan.

This donation represents the largest single contribution the Club has made to CareFlight to date, bringing its cumulative donations to the organisation to more than $210,000. The contribution directly supports CareFlight’s critical aeromedical and emergency rescue services, helping provide urgent care to communities across Australia when it is needed most.

Recognising Service, Leadership, and Community Contribution

The Changeover Dinner was hosted by Lion Vivien Feng and opened with the Australian National Anthem, led by Vice President Leo Lee PMJF and Lindsay Zhang. Immediate Past President Dr Anthony Cheung OAM JP welcomed guests and acknowledged the invaluable support of members, volunteers, sponsors, media, and community partners.

Matt Cross MP, Member for Davidson, attended the ceremony and formally recognised the Lions Club of Sydney Chinese Inc for its 2026 Changeover and its proud history of charity service. His recognition was incorporated into the official Hansard record, acknowledging the Club’s contribution as part of New South Wales’ public record.

During the event, HOME789 was highly honoured to receive a President’s Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of our dedication and ongoing support during the 2025–2026 Lions Year.

A new Board for 2026-2027

The evening also marked the formal installation of the Club’s new Board and Office Bearers, conducted by Lion DGE Peter Touzel PMJF.

President Duncan Lin CFA, who was re-elected for the new term, reflected on the Club’s achievements over the past year, including a 20% net membership growth and the highly successful charity fundraising that made the CareFlight donation possible. He credited these incredible results to the collective effort of Lions members, volunteers, and sponsors.

For HOME789, Walton Chu’s role as Vice President serves as a reminder that meaningful community impact is built not only through corporate initiatives but also through the ongoing, hands-on commitment of individuals connected to the business community
