Most Australians think their home is worth more in 2016, survey finds.

Aussies expectations have risen after last year’s property ‘boom’, considering the fact that their property might be worth more now in 2016. Sydney and Melbourne are set to see large gains this year according to a recent survey conducted by Slater and Gordon.

The survey was undertaken by 2000 homeowners and found that 78 per cent of Australians were on the hunch that their property had skyrocketed over the coming months.

The certainty comes off the back of strong year of price growth in both cities as Sydney and Melbourne lead the property markets of 2015.

94 per cent of Sydney siders believe that their property had been given a boost, following the 89 per cent of Melburnians under the same impression. The majority are considering selling up and cashing in on the price growth this year.
